The picture I chose relates to my research in the perspective of having the ability to see sunrise every morning because my neighborhood isn’t heavily urbanized. The reason I can see sunrise, is mainly because I live right across the street from a park. This picture really inspired me when trying to decide for a research topic since it made me realize that if it weren’t for the park across the street I wouldn’t be able to see that kind of sunrise. The picture isn’t only a picture of the sunrise for me it the fact that I’m allowed to see the sun rise really inspired me. I think that working on Photovoice in the past has made me realize the benefits of living in my neighborhood. Another reason I chose this picture because it shows me that even though I live in the city I can still benefit from things like seeing the sunrise. Besides being able to see sun rise the picture inspired me to realize the benefit the small park across the street brought to me. The inspiration that I got from this picture really helped me structure my research and focus it on how parks are beneficial to local communities. The space portrayed in the picture represents the freedom from a manifesto of concrete buildings being cluttered together and blocking the sun and taking away the small park from my community. Overall the picture in my perspective is an oxymoron of space being provided in a “crowded” environment.
